Our environmental responsibilities and the impacts that we have on our surroundings is extremely important to us.
We have developed - and are continuously improving - an Environmental Management System, based on ISO 14001, to ensure that we meet and, where possible, exceed those responsibilities.
Over the last five years, we have strived to reduce our carbon footprint year-on-year, subscribing to a carbon reduction program and a Climate Change Agreement through our trade association, the TSA.
There has been recent heavy investment at all of our sites in alternative liquid cleansers and we have completely modernised the method by which the soaps, bleaches and conditioners are delivered to the washing machines. In doing so, we have reduced our potential environmental impact.
Additionally, we have invested in technology which ensures that our Transport Department can route our vehicles as effectively and efficiently as possible, again lowering our environmental impact by reducing exhaust fumes and the use of carbon-based fuels.
We work closely with local authorities to ensure that any discharges that we make to atmosphere are below the permitted levels and with local water authorities to ensure that water is recycled efficiently.
We continually seek improved energy-efficient processes and equipment and again work closely with our suppliers to achieve this.
