The new partnership will see 60 vehicles added to CLEAN’s fleet, including a mixture of 3.5 tonne and 5 tonne Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans for deliveries to customers that may have delivery restrictions, DAF LF180 12 tonne box tail lifts, DAF LF220 18 tonne box tail lifts and Iveco Daily 7.2 tonne box tail lifts to meet the needs of larger scale customers. The vehicles will operate from all of CLEAN’s 8 nationwide laundry site locations, covering Banbury, Camberley, Nottingham, Reading, Cheltenham, Ross-on-Wye, Yeovil and CLEAN’s brand new super laundry in Slough, Berkshire.

Speaking of the acquisition, Peter Cox, head of transport at CLEAN, says: “As an expanding business we needed a national solution for our transportation needs and to partner with somebody with proven experience in the linen services sector. Ryder looked at our whole operation and made recommendations based on its extensive expertise in the sector to provide us with the best overall package.

“With the acquisitions of Paragon Laundry and Watford Launders and Cleaners doubling the size of the business, our approach to capability management has become paramount to the beneficiary of our recent investments. The range of resources that Ryder have exposed us to, alongside the scalability to support CLEAN’s business growth, will undoubtedly support our commitments towards becoming the linen and workwear provider of choice for the UK’s hospitality industry.”

With the recent acquisitions having seen several teams integrate successfully to become a 1,400-strong professional workforce, it’s not just the fleet that is rapidly growing and strengthening. In-line with the ongoing expansion plans, a company-wide rebrand is also underway to bring all areas of the business under the CLEAN umbrella and the latest consignment of vehicles from Ryder feature CLEAN’s brand new vehicle livery.
