Nourishing the community

What makes Somerset Larder different from many of the other food manufactures across the country, is their vision to use locally sourced ingredients from all over the west country. Their philosophy is to nourish the community with local produce and to employ local people, using apprentice programs aimed at developing future careers in the catering and hospitality sector.

The team at Somerset Larder consists of 28 members, operating across all disciplines, from baking and patisserie to quality restaurant standard courses. The team are conducted according to a strict food safety management system, to ensure the quality and safety of all food produced. The Somerset Larder logo is boldly embroidered on all the team member uniforms which consist of Bib aprons, Chefs elastic waist trousers, Chefs long sleeve jacket, Chefs short sleeve jacket, food trade jacket and polo shirts.

A partnership with a bright Future

Somerset Larder was created to primarily supply fresh, seasonal food to the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station - the largest construction site in Europe. More recently, the need for nuclear energy in the UK has increased, making the relationship between Somerset Larder and Hinkley Point more prevalent. CLEAN will, of course, be there to support Somerset Larder, every step of the way along that journey.

As a true business partner, CLEAN’s flexibility and agility allows for swift, effective decisions to accommodate the ever-changing business needs, and to support the growth of Somerset Larder.
