Somerset Larder now produces up to 7000 meals a day for a network restaurants and food outlets as well as catering for over 4000 events so far, from their commercial kitchens in Bridgewater, Somerset.
Nourishing the community
What makes Somerset Larder different from many of the other food manufactures across the country, is their vision to use locally sourced ingredients from all over the west country. Their philosophy is to nourish the community with local produce and to employ local people, using apprentice programs aimed at developing future careers in the catering and hospitality sector.

The team at Somerset Larder consists of 28 members, operating across all disciplines, from baking and patisserie to quality restaurant standard courses. The team are conducted according to a strict food safety management system, to ensure the quality and safety of all food produced. Therefore, is it essential the team have access to fresh, clean workwear garments each and every day.
With this in mind, it is also vital that Somerset Larder use the right workwear garments that are comfortable, robust and adhere to all the necessary safety standards. This is why, they partnered with a specialist provider, not only are CLEAN able to provide a service that adheres to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) processes to successfully mitigate any risks and manage food safety hazards. They are also able to provide branding and personalisation options.
The Somerset Larder logo is boldly embroidered on all the team member uniforms which consist of Bib aprons, Chefs elastic waist trousers, Chefs long sleeve jacket, Chefs short sleeve jacket, food trade jacket and polo shirts.
A partnership with a bright Future
Somerset Larder was created to primarily supply fresh, seasonal food to the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station - the largest construction site in Europe. More recently, the need for nuclear energy in the UK has increased, making the relationship between Somerset Larder and Hinkley Point more prevalent. CLEAN will, of course, be there to support Somerset Larder, every step of the way along that journey.
