A journey built on the small things
Doing The Little Things, Brilliantly
Sean started his career at CLEAN in 2015 as a workwear driver in Maidenhead, before later helping to set up operations at the Slough site. His approach has been the same from day one: do the small things well, and the rest follows.
Whether it is moving a stack of towels into a different room without being asked, or taking five minutes to chat with a customer at their counter, Sean builds strong relationships through kindness and consistency. He still talks fondly about a doughnut shop on his early route where a small daily kindness turned into something bigger.
"Those five minutes got me a breakfast for four years. Just little tweaks. That's how you build trust."

the role today
Leading With Safety And Support
As a senior driver at the Camberley site, Sean's day starts with a thorough vehicle check covering tyres, lights, load security, and more. Safety is non-negotiable. He is known for his attention to detail and for coaching others to meet the same high standards.
A typical shift might begin with a delivery to Heathrow, return to Camberley to reload, then continue with drops in central London. He works flexibly across routes and supports in the office during busy periods or when colleagues need cover.
When new starters or agency drivers come on board, Sean is often the one walking them through vehicle checks, route planning, and safe driving practices. His coaching style is direct but supportive, and always focused on helping others succeed.
"I've got standards, and I stick to them. It is not about being strict. It is about keeping people safe and helping them grow."
SMART TECHNOLOGY, REAL RESULTS
Coaching The Camberley Fleet With Samsara
A key part of Sean's role involves Samsara, the smart technology installed in CLEAN vehicles. Samsara monitors driving behaviour, vehicle performance, and safety, providing real-time feedback and detailed reports.
📡 WHAT SAMSARA TRACKS
Real-Time Insight Across The Fleet
It is not surveillance, it is support. Sean uses the data to coach colleagues and help them improve their scores, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Speed and Braking
Fuel Efficiency
Use of Cruise Control
Driver Attentiveness
Thanks to this approach, the Camberley site has seen a significant reduction in incidents and a clear boost in eco-driving scores. Sean's dedication to using the system effectively earned him formal international recognition.
"You get to know how someone drives just by looking at their Samsara events. It helps us spot issues early and support each other to be better."

From Camberley To San Diego
🏆 SAMSARA TOP DRIVER AWARD
Recognised Across Three Continents
Sean was honoured at Samsara's awards event in San Diego, recognised for outstanding driving performance and his role in coaching colleagues across the EMEA region.
He shares the recognition with his whole team.
Attending the awards event was a turning point for Sean. It gave him fresh confidence and reminded him of his value, not just as a driver, but as a leader. Characteristically, he is quick to share the credit.
"This award isn't just mine. It's for every CLEAN driver, assessor, and manager who supports each other every day. San Diego made me realise I'm alright. I'm good at what I do. And most of all, I enjoy it."
team spirit
A Band Of Brothers
Sean credits the support he has received at Camberley for helping him through personal challenges. He speaks highly of the camaraderie at the site and of the leadership he works alongside, particularly Peter Cox, Head of Transport, and Pete Faulkner, Transport Manager at Camberley. Their encouragement, he says, has made all the difference.
"Sean himself would be the first to say that it's a team effort, but it's his infectious passion to help improve his peers through coaching, which has made a real and lasting difference. The achievement and the recognition Sean has received is so inspiring to our business. It's part of the validation process that confirms that we are doing things well."
