“I’m one of the Transport Team Leaders working as part of the transport team at CLEAN’s Slough laundry, which specialises in bed linen, towelling and table linen serving customers in London, the South East of England and beyond. Slough deserves its title of a super-laundry because it is probably the most modern industrial laundry in the UK, if not the World! I transferred here from CLEAN’s former production site in Maidenhead.”
My Career
“I started my career with CLEAN as a Loader, then I became a driver, then Manager and now a Team Leader at our Flagship Laundry. My career progression is all thanks to CLEAN. One day I would like to be the Transport Manager overseeing the whole transport logistics at a CLEAN laundry.”
What does my job involve?
“I work with the Transport Manager at the laundry to ensure that the transport operation at the site is run efficiently and our key performance indicators and targets are met. We have targets to ensure we are fuel efficient, vehicles and drivers are fully utilised and that any incidents are recorded and dealt with as a matter of urgency. I also deal with numerous day to day issues that can occur for example, making sure the vehicles are clean and tidy, drivers are wearing the correct uniform and that they are performing the necessary vehicle safety checks.”

“I love my job because every day is a new challenge whether it’s sorting out any vehicle compliance issues or helping with the operational needs of the business and assisting CLEAN in delivering first-class customer satisfaction.”
