Claire’s Story - from Administrator to Operations Manager

Claire started working for CLEAN in as a Site Administrator in 2014. Her first role was to support the management team and provide admin support to ensure the smooth running of the laundry site. In this role Claire assisted with payroll administration, ensuring people got paid correctly and on time, supporting the human resources and being a point of contact for customer service queries, liaising with the operations and transport teams and the laundry and the customer service centre. A health and safety culture and ensuring colleagues, customers and contractors return home safely to their families at the end of every working day is part of the company ethos at CLEAN.

Claire embarked upon a programme of fully funded Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) training in 2018 giving her the health and safety knowledge needed to build upon her experience and take on some responsibility for this function at the site. In January 2020 Claire took up a full time Health, Safety and Training Manager performing risk assessments, safety audits, accident reporting and training colleagues to ensure that injuries are avoided, and accidents prevented. Since the filming of this video in January 2022, it was back to the classroom again for Claire as she complemented her experience of working in a laundry environment with all became a site Operation Manager at our Yeovil Laundry.
