The transport departments at the two laundries were among only 43 UK organisations to receive the award. Both laundry sites were awarded the RoSPA Gold Fleet Safety Award for their rigorous health and safety protocols, relentless hard work to ensure the safety of its drivers and, in turn, other road users.

CLEAN’s Head of Transport, Peter Cox said: “This is the third year that the Slough Transport team have proven their excellence in terms of transport safety projects by entering the ROSPA Fleet Safety Awards. I am delighted that their hard work and relentless focus on reducing occupational road risk along with their ability to demonstrate continuous improvement in all areas of fleet safety has been rewarded.

“The team at Camberley are delighted to have also achieved the Gold Award Standard, building upon the success at Slough. Throughout CLEAN we are already planning further improvements and initiatives for the year ahead. This achievement has helped us strengthen our standards benchmark and acted as a catalyst to further motivate our transport teams across all CLEAN sites to enter the awards in the future.”

Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards. The Fleet Safety Awards follow RoSPA’s Managing Occupational Road Risk (MORRTM) principles and are judged on verifiable historical performance data of accidents and the identification of an effective, cohesive corporate road risk management programme.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “This is a fantastic and well-deserved accomplishment. All our award entrants demonstrate their unwavering commitment and passion for keeping people safe at work. By receiving this recognition CLEAN’s transport operation joins like-minded transport teams at organisations worldwide, who represent the very best in their approach to managing occupational road risk.”

In July 2022 CLEAN was also awarded the prestigious Presidents Award presented only to those organisations that achieve 10 or more consecutive RoSPA Gold Medal Award for maintaining high standards in all aspects of health and safety.
